Hannah E. Palmer grew up playing tennis at the Harry Hopman International Tennis Academy in Florida. "Catch It on the Rise" is loosely based on her experience there and on her rivalry at local tournaments with a particularly challenging opponent. She now lives in New Mexico and plays ping-pong instead.
