The Kraken

The mighty Kraken tears at life—
All in its vicinity shall flee
I am no match with spear or knife—
Not even Poseidon can save me

But a pirate’s oath, I have sworn,
to spend the rest of my days at sea—
Until I have repaid the beast in scorn
And dragged it back to the quay!

For the tragedies it has wrought,
have taken all I hold dear…
My hook trembles at the thought,
but I shall not shed a tear…

I know its time has come
I know its end is near
Even if I have to hook its gum—
And drag it to the bottom of the pier!
